The Brumby Catcher

Racing on the 'wing' of the brumby mob - a position taken only by the 'crack' rider - is the famous stockman Clancy of the Overflow. Clancy joined the gathering of top riders called to recapture a thoroughbred colt which had been enticed away by the wild horses. As a future racing champion, the colt's value is a thousand pounds. But for Clancy, the true prize is not the reward; it's the thrill of the chase, the joy of pitting all of his skills and his experience against those of the wily black stallion who leads the mob.
